iPhone 5 spooky red dot

Last night, as I was setting the alarm on my iPhone 5, I noticed this spooky little red dot next to the receiver (front-facing camera area). I was all "Whoooa, hold up" in my pitch dark room, and turned my head to see if anything/anyone was there

Well I was doing a search, apparently it might just be the proximity censor. I guess it's only visible in the darkness.

Still, tripped me out...very reminiscent of a telescreen
