iPhone drum beats/ machine apps?

I don't know why people diss garageband. It can do pretty much anything you need for basic music production and various instrumental tools. Not the best drum sounds. But in general the software is very seamless and intuitive - even on a phone. Unless you need pro sounds and production level software (most people don't, despite what they think), garageband has bought electronic music production to the masses far more than anything else. And the built in amp sounds are surprisingly good. Kudos to mac.

I completely agree. I recently picked up an Android/Samsung tablet through my phone carrier. I would've gotten an iPad but it was simply to expensive for me. Anyway, I cannot believe that Android still has absolutely nothing in the way of music apps. The ones they do provide are a serious joke. The Apple market is the only way you're going to find half way decent to rather good music apps. I still can't believe that that isn't one developer that has put out anything remotely close to what Apple has.

The three I listed all have preset grooves. Creating my own grooves would be more work than I want for my simple needs.

drumgenius is the best but its definitely aimed at jazz players but there's some good funk and Latin grooves in there

WARNING - I'm a chronic threadjacker.

Apple has had the music market cornered for years, and continue to by making the experience seamless for the average consumer. They just happen to make excellent software made to work effortlessly with their ubiquitous hardware. And for that reason 2nd/3rd party music software and hardware developers, I assume, would rather focus on one stable and ubiquitous platform with far more users.

I'd be willing to bet there are android apps out there that at least do some things similar, and maybe even well. As with all things android, you probably have to sift through tons of crud before you find a diamond. Android has essentially no overhead for developers to create and market an app - the downside of course being that anyone can make and market an app. Kinda like most things open source/linux, as music creators we are left with the decision of continually tinkering and piecing together solutions and workarounds, or just ponying up the extra dough for apple products and get right to making music. Most people choose the latter. The rest of us have to figure out how to get by with less favorable options.

And despite my absolute distaste for the hell that is itunes on a windows machine, I'm still not ready to jump ship. My phone has to integrate with the rest of the family's for now. And, well, Garageband. Such is life.

hello Mauro. I am a jazz pianist\composer from Mexico and would like to congratulate you for such a great app . It has become essential to my composing and practicing. !! thank you for your incredible work!!!

I work on iOS and a couple of years back I was able to link Drumgenius with Garageband via AudioBus. This was great because I could use the drum loops as a reference directly in Garageband and record baselines on top, and all the other instruments. It was very inspiring to compose this way. for some reason it doesn't work anymore!!! Are you going to update and make Drumgenius compatible with AudioBus or any other DAW ? this would be amazing
