irig or stomp?

Hi

Bedroom bassist looking to record and have a bit of fun using garageband.
I had planned on buying an irig 2 so could be used with an amp if I decided to use an effect pedal app, but have also seen the stomp.
As I understand it, both connect to ipad and amp so not sure what to go for.
It looks like they both connect via the headphone socket to the ipad so assume quality is the same for both, unlike the HD which plugs into the 'pin' socket jobby.

is there any real difference between the 2?

thanks

Do not waste your money on antiquated iOS audio devices that use your headphone jack. There are problems with poor audio quality, latency, and crosstalk between input and output signals.

Get something that plugs in to the sync/charge port (30 pin for older devices, Lightning for modern; most interfaces will come with cables for both).

If you want to run an output to your amp, you're best looking at something like the iRig Stomp I/O if you want to be able to turn effects on hands free; or the iRig HD 2 if you don't feel like you need stomp switches. I personally like the Line 6 Sonic Port as well.
