Only humans keep track of time, and age. It's man's creation, and it's a double edged sword.
I've always said... every birthday, "I'm just a day older than yesterday." I usually have to stop
and figure my age out when asked, because I'm THAT obtuse to it. Many have said it, and I
agree... you're as old as you feel. Enjoy your time with the band, don't get hung up on 'age'...
...Think about this...
...No other living creature keeps track of time... Seasons, yes... Day and Night... yep, but never
seen an animal 'late' to anything, or running around with a watch on. I often wonder if they're
smarter than us....

I do believe (musicians wanted ads specifying age notwithstanding) that music is one of the few endeavours where there is little prejudice, be it age, race, gender or whatever.
Of course that's amongst the musicians themselves...once you get agents, managers, and PR types involved, the trouble starts.

Hell no. Age doesn't matter, what matters is the musical ideas one brings to the group. And besides where bass players so live where aren't the primary attention.

I turned 52 today. I'm in four bands and don't see myself slowing down anything soon. If your band mates had an issue with you, I'm sure they'd let you know
Ed Cassidy, drummer of Spirit, played until his death at age 89 in 2012. He was already in his mid 40s when the band recorded it's first album. The band's guitarist Randy California was his stepson.
