Double Bass Is it the pickup or the bass?

Hello all,

My dilemma is that I have been having trouble with my pickups.

I have a Shen Willow, with a Realist and a BP-100 as a back-up. Not to long ago, my bridge was dipping south, so I adjusted it back to normal. After doing this, everything went down the pooper. No soundposts are fine, especially when I play arco, everything is fine.

When I play through my EA mirco with an Ampeg PB212, I lose all high end to where it is just the A & E getting full volume. I've even used a friend's BP-100. Same thing. When I put in my electric bass everything is fine.

Can somebody help me?

Check to see that the bridge feet are flush against the top (and against the realist). After moving the bridge they may have becoming unseated, at a slight angle and not making full contact.

Well and this time of the year in the Midwest all bets are off. My bass goes a little haywire every year in the spring and fall. Eric is right on about the bridge and the Realist but a sound post adjustment may also be in order due the changing body size.
