There is a rumour around that the Fender Jazz Bass "geddy lee signature" is getting out of production?

Is it true ?

In an interview with Bassplayer.tv, Geddy said that he was working with Fender on a new series of sig basses. They will have a satin finished neck and upgraded tuners. Beyond that, I don't know that there will be a significan difference.

The rumor is just that, a rumor. Fender has no plans to stop production of the very successful GL sig and there are no plans to make a GL V.

And this is what Fender told me.

The GL sells like crazy. They are upgrading the tuners and sanding the neck a bit (as mentioned above).

Really! Next thing he'll be telling us that the next geddy will be a double neck combining a Fender Electric XII with a jazz bass. Or that it will come with a neck through body and Rickenbacker pickups.

Probably, but I doubt they will ever be worth much anyways. They are literally everywhere for about $600.

I sanded my neck myself and it looks like hell. Plays amazing through and I will never sell it.
