Is The Double Bass Harder To Play?

Playing the double bass is not a matter of muscle or sheer physical strength; it is about finding out how to make your body work most efficiently. A teacher is a must to get started properly.

I'd agree that it's not only a matter of physical strength, but it certainly is a factor(as always, IMO & IME).
The few lessons I've had made a huge difference; wholeheartedly agreed on the importance of finding a good teacher.

"Is Double Bass Harder To Play?"
You've got me laughing so hard that tears are streaming down my face. (Well, ok, I'm exaggerating a little.)

Double bass is an entirely different instrument.

Comparing an electric to an upright is like comparing a guitar to a violin.
It takes an entirely different technique alltogether.
