I wish some manufacturer would produce a tube bass amp Between 200-300w that didn't cost a fortune or weigh a ton. The weight of am SVT is a deal breaker for me, they sound awesome.

Just get a small guitar amp with a 4 band EQ.
Oops, that's not so easy to find either

I mean, yeah, it's like $1700, but for a new amp that's not terrible.
In the tube world, I'd consider that a fortune, honestly. A YBA-200 costs $1000 and weighs only slightly more.
My YBA-300 was too much power. Couldn't turn it up past 2 on the master in a large bar.
Traynor and Peavey are notably cheap. They're kinda the exception, not the rule. $1000 for a new tube amp is very much on the low side. Ampeg SVTs cost like $1800 new, and they're not even made here. The V4B costs $1300 new, but it's only 100 watts. Orange is way more expensive. The Fender Bassman 100T costs $1450, but it, again is 100 watts. Fender Super Bassman costs $1800. I could go on. Usual price range for a big tube amp in the 100-300 watt range seems to be $1200-1800, new. Saying that "in the tube world, that's a fortune!" is a little misleading when it's well within the usual price range for new tube amps.
The YBA series are nice amps, but they're not for everyone, either. Personally, though I love tube amps, I wouldn't be interested in either the 200 or the 300.
Orange is only tube in the preamp, if you're talking about the Micro Terror Bass.

EBS was making a small 90 watt head but I think they discontinued that amp. Pignose made a 100 watt all tube combo in the 90's that wasn't too bad and Sovtek made a 50 watt bass head around the same time

You must have been running game the wrong cab then. I run mine through an older Euphonic Audio 2-10. I use the site up in church all the time. But I recently took it to a gig. We played outdoors under a shelter. Loud stage. The drum just about took my head off. I started with some bass in my wedge but had them take it out because their monitors were awful. The rig was plenty loud. And I was playing country and rock covers and some pop country originals. Clean as a whistle and stupid loud.
I can't say enough good about this combination. That cab and that head love each other. Sound guys love the tone from the amp as well.
All that being said, I can't wait to hear the Ampeg. It won't replace the Ashdown. I will probably wind up with both.
These do look sweet. Powerwise, does the PF-50T match up with a mid-sixties bassman head?
"Simple" and low power can be achieved with a Epiphone Valve Jr. It's a guitar head, but it's the definition of simple, 5 watts, all tube. I'm satisfied enough for bedroom rockgod status with mine, I just use the tone control on my bass.
