Is this a Carvin?

F Bass indeed. Be careful. I smell a scam. Or the guy just posted the wrong picture.

Either a scam or someone trying to sell a stolen bass.

I remember when Jady had his Stambaugh stolen. The guy who ripped him off tried to sell it on Craigslist - as a Schecter I believe - because he didn't know what it was and it was probably the closest match he could find.

Either way, something is up.

Hey, thanks guys. I was originally thinking Fodera, but their website didn't show anything that looked like the pic, and I was drawing a blank otherwise. I was close, though. Still starts with an F. ;)

Actually, I was thinking more stolen goods than Chinese knock-off.

I called the guy. He's not trying to scam it seems...he's just lazy. He found a picture of a bass that KINDA looks like his with similar woods. He's actually selling a Carvin, and not at a bad price either. I think that pic needs to come down though.

EDIT: Super lazy!! All I did was type in Carvin bass into google images and look at this: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Fretless, neck through maple w/ what appear to be Koa wings. I bet you this is the same model bass he's selling.

Well, you probably could include me in that lazy camp. :hiding: I could have called the guy too, but I wanted to be sure. I didn't want to take him to task in case it really was an older Carvin (even though I was pretty sure it wasn't), and if it was a stolen F-bass, I didn't want to tip him off that someone was on to him, thus making him pull back and hide. Once again, you guys don't disappoint. :D
