Is This a Music Go Round Steal

I notice some really good prices there...$299 for a $499 Dean Exotica Supreme.
Do they usually have such good prices?

You do know that MGR sells used stuff, right? The condition can be anywhere between totally pristine, like new condition
and totally beat up garbage can junk.

I'm sure the SR800 is probably pretty nice.

There was one recently for about that price at the local MGR.
Only thing wrong with it was one of the knobs was knackered. And supposedly it's surface mounted on a
circuit board or something and the board would have to be replaced.
I don't really know anything about it. I'm just going by the description they provided me of it.

I wasn't trying to badmouth it.

I was responding to jd56hawk's comment about prices.
MGR sells used stuff. I buy stuff there, and have gotten some really good deals.
Some stuff is not a good deal. You have to be able to tell the difference.

Anyways - congrats on your new bass, Kaden Daniels.

I bought a 1997 SR800 from GC used.....new RW strings when it arrived and little to no fret wear but lots of buckling on the back and some rust on the bridge I spent hours dealing with...

Also had a heckuva time getting the 2 pickups balanced...finally it is setup and plays wonderfully.

I would definitely make sure no issues with the pots and electronics but I love this bass...especially thru my Eden Metro tube channel, really warms it up.

Thanks guys and yes My music go round in Columbus Ohio always has really great deals and prices on alot of stuff I did play it and it was in great shape even had plastic film on the truss rod cover and no electronic problems Music Go Round is my favorite place cause you can find older cooler stuff like japanese fenders USA peavey and stuff like that for cheap

There are usually some good deals at my local MGR. They don't like sitting on stock for too long so they start reducing. There was a cat in the hat Yamaha BB at my local one that I thought was stupid for 300, but for 129?

I wouldn’t buy anything online from the crooks at the MGR in Fort Worth. I bought a bass that “had no issues” and I received a bass with mangled frets. Sure, they except returns but minus the $120 for shipping both ways. These guys are despicable criminals, they concealed the damage and misrepresented its condition and did nothing to rectify the problem. No apology, nothing. The lowest of the low. Complete slime. From what I hear this is pretty much how they all operate.

I've bought from MGR successfully on multiple occasions from stores in other states over the phone. NOT all stores are like Fort Worth. In general, I find them much more cooperative and knowledgeable on the phone than GC for example. They always take time for me to ask as many detailed questions as I might have and have been truthful in all instances even down to the size and location of any nicks or dings. These guys are franchise owners and if you think about it their reputation is everything.

I will say that some stores have students working that don't engage the customers well, if at all....Greensboro, NC to be specific. I've been in there twice and nobody greeted me or said a word to me. Before the Cary, NC store closed, I did several successful deals with them and got to know the owner fairly well.
