Hello I really need help I'm trying to decide which one would be better for gospel a tank 1212 or a tank 1015? I'm using a Mesa d800 thanks

Either would work fine as a standalone cab and be overkill for most settings. The company is iffy but the products are great. I still gig a 1012 exclusively with an arsenal of hard hitting basses and my main work is in Gospel and I play a wide array of other genres with excellent results all around. I've been using mine with a Quilter Bass Block 800 for several years and still haven't heard anything that can touch my rig. Not even close.

You'll likely need solid full range sound and that has zip to do with a particular driver size.

I see you settled withthe 1215... Good choice. I use a 1012 which need my needs very well... I have played in small venues and larger capacity venues with this rig with no problems and my settings not even cranked... People can say what they want about these cabs ... but I have played through. A 1012, a 1215 and a Matrix.. that Matrix is really nice.. I just don't want to use a 56lb can but it will blow any 410 away ... any that I have heard ... Ampeg, GK or MB ....

Reply to a very long-dead post: you ain't the only one. My field was acoustic instruments but it's all the same industry and the ratio of SOBs to decent people is about 10 to 1. An industry of bottom feeders. I cashed in my chips for good in 1999 after handing over my designs and specs to a guy who has since made a LOT of money off them but then declined to give me either credit or further work. Hey, I was young and dumb. I didn't get anything in writing. Thought I could trust this guy's word. I claim my part in my own ruination.

That was the last straw. You gotta draw a line at some point, say you're not going to allow yourself to be taken advantage of again, or you'll just be an eternal, and very poor, victim. That isn't me. I went a step further. I decided that I was no longer going to work in or for an an industry that, frankly, is run and ruled by extremely low functioning people. People who, in any other industry, would have been long since sued out of existence. Turned my back on the whole thing. I now work IT security and am far happier. It's a hell of a thing to turn your back on almost 15 years worth of your life and retrain for something else entirely but in my case it has worked out very, very well.

In my case I was older and dumb enough to trust people who up until the point they screwed me had been my friends. I have no idea how they rationalize what they did. I guess that's part of their gift.

So now I don't extend myself in situations like that. I feel kind of dumb providing content here considering the crap I repeatedly catch. The desire to help is strong.

You put a substantial portion of your life into something, you don't want to let it go to waste. So you share the knowledge.

Problem is, most folks here don't have the experience, technical background, imagination or willingness to update their knowledge base to appreciate it. Far from it. You tell people something contrary to the BS they've been hearing from ill-informed music store employees all their lives, you'll just get a load of abuse.

So, on my end, I'm well over trying to explain to people here that just because an instrument has pickups or a solid body doesn't mean it still isn't primarily an acoustic instrument. Let them spend thousands on pickups and compressors and every piece of electronic kit under the sun. If the wood sounds like garbage, so will the bass. Period. There's no remedy for that.

Sometimes it takes a few times before you fine tune your ability to choose your business collaborations well. Nothing dumb about it though, some folks are excellent at the game of "the con".

Just started reading https://www.amazon.com/Intelligence-Trap-Smart-People-Mistakes/dp/0393651428 to see if I can improve the fine tuning.

I said I would post an update after I got my BOOM BASS MATRIX CABINET. Keeping in mind this is the largest cabinet they offer this thing is an absolute BEAST!!!! At 56 pounds it easily gives you all the meat of a 4-10 cabinet or my beloved Bergantino HT-322 with a 2-10 1-12 set up. I use a EBS Reidmar 750 so I gave it plenty of clean power. For me I have never had something with a 15" woofer so it took me a minute to eq it to the tone I like but it is a Monster. So far I think the coolest thing is if you stand next to it on either side you still get full sound. My drummer is going to be in heaven. I am also planning on getting a Tank 10-12 and I will be set and can sell all the heavy stuff I have. Although they may not have them in stock Guitar Center and musicians friend carry them and they offer a 45 day return. I read some of the comments on this thread about the tone but with a good amp you should be able to eq these cabs to get the sound you need. I can't see anyone looking for something with full tone in a light weight package not loving these cabinets.

Indeed. That Matrix is a BEAST. I have played one through a Genzler 800, a D800 and an Acoustic B1000HD. BBC cabs are fantastic.

Has anybody played a 1012 or 1212? I am loving the small footprint. I hooked up a 1012 at nearby Guitar Center with the SVT that was already connected to the floor model. Sounded pretty tight but couldn't go too loud on the main showroom floor. Would like to know if it can really handle the Wattage in the specs.
