Is this normal? (intonation)

fender jazz, strung through body
tuned Eb Ab Db Gb

you'll see what i mean by the picture, it just seems weird to me that the saddle for the G string is so far back. i checked on two different tuners and the intonation is right on the money.

That does seem pretty far back but I could not say why that is. In looking at mine. My E is the furthest back and G is the most forward. Also intonated on multiple tuners. I guess check your neck to see if there is anything that may affect the distance between fret 12 and the nut. Good Luck!

yeah everything seems normal. strumming the 5th, octave, high 3rd and higher octave all ring out in harmony. i dont get it. i guess i'll go with the first guys advice.

Well, is the Gb (and Eb, Ab, Db) in tune up and down the fret board? If yes, you're done.

it is indeed strange...most of the time, the saddles intonate with a fairly regular slant...I've seen pics of basses on here, however, with saddles all over the place...

there could be an issue with the string, but if it intonates OK and sounds OK, just leave it...
