Is this Normal?

Stupid question, but is this normal for the truss rod to stick out? Never really noticed it as I play the 5-string basses more often.

Likely what you are seeing is not the rod itself, but a bolt or nut to which the adjustment tool inserts or connects. I reckon the fact that it's visible prevents the need for hack luthiers and techs trying to rummage around inside, using the wrong tool, etc. if the adjustment nut were recessed. I know there might be a proper name for the visible part, but cannot recall it for the life of me. ;)

BTW, is that a Fodera YinYang model, perhaps earlier generation? The ones on their website do not necessarily look like yours, but whaddoiknow??:cool::smug:
