Is this setup possible?

Hey guys,

I currently run my bass through a Sansamp BDDI which is acting as a preamp over my Ashdown MAG600 head and a 410 cab. My signal chain at home looks like this:

Bass -> Pedal Tuner -> Sansamp -> Amp -> Cabinet

I realize that this would also work for live applications, however, if there ever wasn't enough space for the cabinet on stage, I would be worried about my sound because it relies equally on the Sansamp and the head.

So, is it possible to run this signal chain?

Bass -> Pedal Tuner -> Sansamp -> Amp -> PA

Would it be dangerous to run the amp without a cab?

If it's a Solid State amp there's no problem running it cabless...

The signal chain is possible only if the head has a DI out with the POST option... If it's PRE it won't affect your signal and you can just do BASS > SANSAMP > PA, which is actually your best option in theory... Most people will argue that 2 preamps does more harm than good but your ears know better...

As I said, your ears know better.

Just remember to come to the soundguy and say this: "if my signal is a bit too hot, please let me know".

Sometimes soundmen notice stuff but don't really bother...
