Is this used Fender bass real?

Hi All,

The other day I found a used Fender USA online. This is supposed to be a Jazz bass and the serial number seems to check out but it seems unusual to me. Can someone help me out on this?

According to the seller it is one bass. Produced in 2000. I do not seem to find a fender bass with this specific pickups in this setup though.

Look at the holes drilled on sides of the bridge for a pickup cover plate in the top pic.
Now try to find them in the second pic. And the wood grain is completely different.
I wouldn't send this fella my money.

The most obvious part to me is the grain just above the pick guard toward the upper horn. Not the same body at all. Not even close.

Well Reggies are routed this way, but along with the discrepancies already mentioned, two different bridges as well.

Also the spacing is different from bridge to bridge pickup in pics 1 and 2.
Tell him you'll give this $500 bill for the bass in the top pic

Ones a Jazz Bass Pluss with the fine tune bridge and lace sensors. The other is a regular jb. Run away. Smells like fish.

the first pic shows an enclosed bridge pickup (probably a Bartolini) second shows exposed pole pieces.... and that was just what I noticed in the first 20 seconds. Add that to all the other issues, and you have a scam.

Looks like there is a dark brown spot on the first that isn't on second. Also, are there pickup covers on the first one?

Seller actually used RTV to seal linoleum, in the one pic, so I would assume this is Bob Vila, therefore would not buy a bass from him...
