Issue with G&L Tribute L2000

So i just picked up a used L200 tribute natural gloss. seems older and im loving LOVING everything about it. except the middle switch when switched on (the bass boost series/parallel control) the bridge pickup goes super super quiet. Loud enough to be heard through the amp. But noticeably quieter than the other pickup. But only one of the modes is like that. Having the switch in the other position the bridge pickup sounds just fine. any thoughts? It cant be a bad pickup? Not sure

Hi there,
I was having the same issue, really 'thin', quiet sound in bass boost mode. I've cut the pickup's wires and took it out. I compared the coils' ohms, 3 of them were about 4.9Kohm, one wasn't so I had a broken pickup. With not much to lose I pried the pickup out of it's casing and discovered the coil wire was jammed against the casing, with broken wires as a result. I took about a 100 or more turns off of the wire untill all broken pieces were out , resoldered it and it's working again!

I also had this experience. Half of the neck pickup was dead which means it worked as a single coil with the middle switch in parallel but in series it killed the whole pickup.
Fortunately, mine was just broken at the very end of the winding so I was able to reflow the solder and get it working again.
