It's baaaack!!

I'll probably end up with one. I do wish they'd added a clean blend but of course they want you to buy an XBlender.

Still I loved my old Bass Robotalk. Curious to see how different the filter sounds and of course I always dug the sample & hold filter.

The original Robotalk was based on the Maestro FSH-1 which itself grew out of the Oberheim VCF while adding more controls.

The Robotalk 2 tweaked that filter design and put it in a two channel setup while removing the sample & hold filter. I do think the Robotalk 2's filter sounds a bit better and the built in clean blend is a great idea.

I'm guessing the Robotalk RI uses the modded filter design from the Robotalk 2 but I can't say for sure.

If you haven't seen it before, this video with Larry Kimpel is a very good representation of the original Robotalk's sound.

I'd love to A/B this with the Subdecay Proteus. I originally thought that pedal was a modded clone of the Maestro FSH-1 but Subdecay said that wasn't the case so I think it would be fun to compare them. Of course the Robotalk RI fits my board aesthetic much better. Not that I have any kind of OCD or anything. . .
