I've just taken Vista off my laptop and put on a pirated copy of XP.

I love it.

I have one gig of ram, and Vista just sucks too many resources.

I'm normally pretty anti-download, but couldn't justify spending $100 on a downgrade.

I love Vista. It is a bit ridiculous that you need to have system requirements like that just for the OS though.

I was Anti-Vista for the longest time, until I saw how it ran on a nice computer.

I got my laptop and my desktop off of www.ibuypower.com and not only is it cheaper than dell but the computers are WAY better for the price. Less paying for the brand name and more paying for what you actually get. IMO xps dells are both over rated and way overpriced.

With the student discount I got, it would have been ludicrous for me to buy anything else.

Besides, most of those laptops are waaaay out of the normal college student budget.

Given that you got a discount, you probably ended up paying a reasonable price for what you got.

I like Vista alot. My computer is not exactly flashy, so I'd rather have XP. If I had the resources to run Vista, though, I would in a heartbeat.
