Drop it all down so its in A standard, find the filthiest fuzz pedal you can and run it through the chunkiest rig you can get your hands on.

Drop the E down to D, and the B down to A. That's how I had my "BEAD" bass set up... It can be limiting, but it's kind of cool having two pairs of strings tuned an octave apart, especially if you use octaves often in your playing.

I also like the "floor lamp" option.
