Jack Cassidy Varitone info??

I've been trying to dig up some dirt on the Varitone used in a Epi Jack Cassidy. Are they available to buy anywhere? Or any like it? Anyone used it in a P?

I've been slowly scheming a Warmoth P and I wanted a Varitone-esque tone knob. I'm intrigued that it's transformer based . . .

There were a few clips on youtube, but I really gotta find a JC to play.

I have the B-Box and I have the Birdsong varitone in two of my Birdsong basses. I had a JC and find the B-Box more versatile

There's another vendor out there who made these in a more traditional varitone version, but he was closing them out a few months ago - I can't recall which site, though. His price was more in the $80 range.

I was impressed by the stellar tone sound clips but I think 16 settings is a bit much. I know I'd loose patients w/ that. The Jack Cassidy one caught my attention cuz it's transformer based which is interesting to me...

a 3 switcher seems sufficient . . .
