Was just reading an article about Jack on an in-flight magazine last Thanksgiving, he was cocky & spunky & surprisingly full of vim & vigor. I hope I can tow a boatload of tourists across the English Channel with my teeth when I'm in my 80s.

I remember, as a little boy in the 50s, watching Jack do his show on the old black and white TV. Talk about being ahead of your time. It took most of America about 30 years to catch up with some of his philosophies on fitness.

Into his 70's he still did his birthday ritual of swimming across an open span of water while towing as many row boats as his age (filled with people and weights of course). His feats of swimming were pretty spectacular.

I was starting to think the guy was going to outlive me.

RIP Jack. Where you're at, gravity and weight are no longer an issue.

I live in the same little town he lived in for ages. He was a total character.... You would see him in a restaurant and he would go around to the tables and talk to people and introduce himself. Classic dude. Just saw him a couple of months ago with a walker and thought it wasn't a very good sign.
