Gotta agree with Chef here, Jamerson would still be playing the '62 P-bass. After he moved to L.A. along with the Mowtown operation, he is reported to have lost session dates due to his refusal to switch to round-wound strings. Such a mindset would not switch instruments without a fight. Were he still alive today, I'd be willing to pay money to see him play that P-bass strung with flats.
