JamKazam question....

Hey now,
I'm curious as to which interface is considered to work - without the most issues.

I'm presently using a Behringer U-Phoria UM2

I'm considering upgrading to one of these....
- Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 USB Audio Interface (Gen 3)
- M-Audio AIR 192|4 USB C Audio Interface

Thoughts....?

The Focusrite is widely used on JamKazam. I don't have knowledge about the M-Audio unit, but I wold expect it to be just fine. When used with a PC, be certain the ASIO driver supplied by the vendor is installed. For Mac, they are true plug-n-play.

I have an m-audio 192|4 - works perfectly on mac with really low latency. But the latest windows update broke the driver on PC. Asio-4-all doesn't work with it either.

Yeah, I see most folks use a Focusrite. But now I'm also considering a MOTU M2.
It seems to have a few more features the 2i2 does not.
Is anyone familiar/using a MOTU M2 ?

I use a MOTU Audio Express and I have zero issues with it. My latency is very low (firewire bus).

the M2 is newer, with better DAC and USB-c (faster than firewire). Should be fine.

Why did you not like the UM2?

Asking as I started there and sessions have been hit or miss, really good or suck so much it’s not worth trying. Curious is the UM2 is at the heart of issues.

Not so much as really not liking it, but looking for more features and possible better performance. The Motu M2 has a separate headphone volume, it accepts 1/4" or XLR
It also has a Midi in/out and monitor outs on the back of the unit. And an on/off switch, as opposed to unplugging it. Looks ain't bad either.....
But, your issues may be something else, not knowing what they are.
Latency, connectivity, sound?
