jazz alternatives?????

Hey guys girls. Was looking to buy to buy a Mex 5 string jazz deluxe, have heard a few quality issues with Mexicans, or is this rare. Also is there any alternatives to a jazz(love that jass shape). In an ideal world, i would love a jazz/jazz copy, with a natural wood finish.Quilted maple or something..Would love a Lakeland but cant stretch to that.Looking to spend 600-700 max..Any indepth advice most welcome????

do an ebay completed listings search for "lakland 5" and you'll get 4 basses that sold between $535 and $861. You can easily afford a used lakland 5er, just keep an eye out!

What about a Yamaha TRB1005? It's got a strong B string, a 3-band eq and quilted maple top. You should be able to pick up a new one for around $650.

thanks guys really usefull. Like the thought of a used Lakland. Not sure about Ebay mind never played one see. Maybe i should seek one out and have a go

+1 on the KSD! If ya gotta go Fender, go American! I bought a MIM Dlx 5 and immediately sent it back! Horrible playing bass. I cannot vouch for the American version but it's gotta be better. I'm playing a Yamaha TRB5 now!
