Some Corvettes look like Stingrays to me

GM's former brand Opel had a model Manta = Stingray.
One of Opel's '70ties sportscars (GT Sport) looks like a small Corvette with a slice cut off it's a**.

So why do the shapes of many American '50ties designs refer to abstractions of female bodyparts?

Quite true, a bass with frets should have been called an Accurate Bass instead. Psh, someone back then should have taken a Physics class.

Maybe this idea comes from sculpting classes and creating female body's in clay. Looking at the curves, lines and details of shapes is something I studied. In American '50 designs (Cars, furniture, household objects etc.), many shapes & lines give me the impression that they derived from Pin-up pictures or details (mirrored & abstracted most of the time) of the female body.
