Hi, I'm a new poster here even though I've been reading for years.
Well I have a Squier VM Jazz and I decided to go on with those mods.
The thing is that I want to do this myself (to save myself a few money and have some D.I.Y. stuff, also the budget is enough just for the components
)
What I need is some diagramms if possible.
I e-mailed Audere and in their reply they told that of course it can be done to have a parallel/series switch before the preamp and it'll give even more tonal options and also this:
"The wiring of a normal switch does not change for series/parallel except all
grounded connections go to the preamp connector (or green/white wire on the
modules) - do not connect the pickup to ground (it would sound bad).
This extra switching goes before the preamp."
The preamp is here
As you can see to the preamp go 4 wires; bridge hot and common and neck hot and common. Are any of those ground wires?
I'm a little bit confused. And also I thing that Dimarzio's Model J I'm planning to install are dual coil so we have 4 wires out of each pickup and not two. Unfortunately I couldn't reach Dimarzio via email, when I press the service support (they won't show their email) it will send me to FAQ's for some reason. And there's nothing there
The switch I just want it to be ON/ON parallel connection for both p'ups and series connection for both p'ups. Neither single nor anything else.
If you could help me out with this I'd be really grateful.
