Jazz bridge mod

I have a mim jazz bass that I have been modding this past year and finally I got a new bridge, an the high mass American fender one. I have plugged the 2 middle holes (hole 2 & 4) and redrilled them for the bridge.

Now my question is my bridge is sitting measuring from the inside edge of the nut to the contact point on the G string is about 1/8 to 3/16 of an inch over length. I am wanting to put ferrules in for string through(no reason really just a cheap mod that I can do myself) so will the bridge being that distance out cause me problems with intonation or will it be okish. I'm leaning towards the first pull it off and start again but what do people with experience say?

Thank you

Dave
