jazz g.a.s.

I'm REALLY G.A.S.ing for a Jazz. I've played some and my favourite so far has been a '75 Jazz Re-issue. Problem is I can't afford it. I was wondering if another option was out there. SX, Squire (new classic series or something like that...) or possibly a Geddy are my options i'm thinking, though i have played some smokin' american jazz's that have me thinking otherwise, possibly.

Any advice? Any recommendations? Should i turn it into a poll?
I'm looking for an ash bodied jazz with a maple/maple neck, preferably natural colour though black's cool too. Blocks and Binding are also really cool. Also, I'm looking for something extremely playable if set up well.

SX has the natural with maple/maple, blocks, binding. $160 :]

I love Fenders, but +1 on the SX naturals with different pups/electronics. The Squire Modified J is nice, too.

Sounds like a Marcus Miller Jazz ya want from your description...I'm in the process of selling my Victor Bailey to get one...go figure
