There are those that spend all day thinking up posts for inconsequential differences between $3500 basses that nobody gives half a crap about except the person posting....and then there's the folks that take whatever bass they have and go play on Friday and Saturday nights while I'm at home with my poopy 4 month skills and a dwindling bottle of Captain Morgan's, the Va Tech game, and my practice amp. I'd rather be posting in the recording forum with a sound board clip of my show instead of nonchalantly posting on whether a 10 screw pickguard actually makes half a shag's difference compared to a 11 screw pickguard. I hope to get there one day, so live it up with whatever ya got and rock those mutha****as out.

I love my Stingray and my MIM jazz is cool. ....and that's all I got to say about that

Here's the real beauty of playing music: as long as you keep playing, you will get better. On top of that, it's fun no matter how good you are. And beyond that, "good" is entirely subjective because music has an intangible, ineffable quality about it in the way it touches people. Sometimes the softest, most chill music can be exceptionally powerful and moving. Or really sloppy but energetic punk rock. Or hot shredding, or killing swing, stanky funk, or irie reggae. So many dimensions.

And, besides, as any serious TB'er will tell you, it's the thread GAUGE of the pickguard screws that influence the tone of the instrument far more than the number of screws used!
