Jeff Abercrombie of Fuel?

I never really payed any attention to his playing until I learned Shimmer as a cover for my band. This guy is really tasteful, grooves hard, and plays a lot of counterpoint stuff, reminding me a little of Robert DeLeo of STP. His tone is massive as well... pure SVT thunder. Has anyone else noticed his playing?

I have, and would agree. The guitarist has some really tasteful solos too. Not flashy, but they just "fit" perfectly. I think that that band really has their chops down a lot better than they will ever get credit for. Majorly underrated songwriters.
