This popped up on my Youtube feed a day or so ago.
It's very keyboard-centric (verging on geeky), but there is some wonderful insight on the writing, recording, and production process; along with great info on the various bass parts on the album.
The description of trying to make John Pattitucci avoid too much glissando on a fretless electric bass is fantastic.
Discussed are many examples of using the right part at the right time, and the right sounds for the song. Obviously their harmony work was stellar, and there's a glimpse into the process of writing those parts.
There's also some cool discussion on the musical influences of all the members, and how these influences were incorporated. Once it's explained it pops right out.
This albums is one of my all time favourite albums from a songwriting, and production standpoint. Spilt Milk - the following album was also amazing, and worth checking out if you're unfamiliar with it.
