Jimmy Falon

(...) He definitely will bring a twentysomething edge which might be cool for 12:30. (...)

and my coffee goes allll over my laptop... ;)

obvious i'm no fallon supporter, but i guess conan had it the worst, especially following someone like letterman. course, conan came out of nowhere, and had some terrific writing pedigree to stand in front of, snl, producing simpsons, etc.

i'm just hoping it doesnt get all carson daly like. how does that man STILL have a show?

This morning,at 0700 hrs, right when I was leaving to catch the bus the last episode with Conan appeared on TV.I can't watch the live ones so it was my last chance other then finding it on the net.Grrrr

I don't know about Fellon but Conan is the man.

i really have no idea. i watch the first 30 seconds of his show to see the musical guest, just before his horrible monologue. if the musical guest is good, i tune into the last 7 minutes of the program.

he cuts off his guests mid-sentence, he doesnt have smart things to say, and he looks like a chemo patient. i hate all things carson daily.

Are you saying that Incubus can do better than Ben Kenney? You'd rather them go back to a slap happy wanker like Katunich?

yes. dirk lance is one of the better bassists ive heard, and personally in my top 5 that ever lived.

ben kenney sucks something awful. he changes those songs completely. makes me sick. can he even PLAY hilikus? i doubt it.

and i didnt hear slap after science came out. maybe occasionally, but not full time.

hell.. hire ME. i feel like i would do better justice to incubus than a douche like kenney.

I recorded it and watched about half this morning. The Roots are awesome, but like any other talk show, you only get them in 10 second chunks.

Fallon seems really uncomfortable. Kind of like when Chevy Chase hosted his show. You can watch clips of Conan's first show on Youtube and while not perfect, you can see the potential there.

By the way:

Johnny Carson=Jack Paar>80s Letterman>Steve Allen>Conan>Letterman '93-present>everybody else with Jimmy Kimmel, Craig Ferguson and Carson Daly at the very bottom.

i watched the very beginning last night and then up to the deniro interview this morning.

fallon really wasn't very good, but i'll give him some time. the roots are, of course, great, but that doesn't matter if the host isn't good.

i was waiting for some joke on the 3rd guy in "lick it for 10", but it didn't come.

i did like them slow jamming the news though, but that could easily get old

Yeah, it was an awkward start. Hopefully they can hook up some writing talent, get some ideas going. (IIRC Conan had Robert Smigel as a head writer when he started. That guy is thermo-nuclear funny!!)

Robert DeNiro didn't exactly light the place up! Clearly his gifts do not reside in the conversational realm. :p I'm not especially a Justin Timberlake fan but things sure started to breathe more after he came out.

Oh, well - we'll see what happens. Looking forward to seeing Tina Fey tonight.

i tuned in to the first show last night and he was terrible, justin timberlake saved the show from a comedy standpoint, but the roots are amazing and slow jamming the news killed me!

i vote that nbc gives timberlake a show with the roots as a houseband and it will be funny and im sure they will do some awesome musical collabs.

and for what it's worth:

letterman>stephan colbert>conan>John stewart>craig ferguson>jimmy kimmle>leno>carson daily
