In Canada, a curriculum vitae, or CV, is the term used for the resume of a professional, such as a doctor or lawyer. The rest of us simply use the term, resume.

I had to practically beg for my current job. I was over-qualified and they were afraid I'd get bored and leave. But after many years of production-management type positions that involved very long hours, I just wanted a regular admin job that I could put out of my head when I left work at the end of the day, so that I could devote my free time to my creative work. After 5 (yes, 5) interviews for the job, they finally gave it to me. That was 8 years ago. My annual reviews basically consist of management saying, "We love you. Never leave," and then we chit-chat for the rest of the alloted time. It's a great gig, as day jobs go.

Hang in there, dude, and keep looking. Also keep an open mind. The right job will come your way. :)

Agreed. OP was typing in frustration and is not a native English speaker, yet everyone wants to make it his fault by pointing out a spelling error and misuse of a word (that he actually used correctly). From all the posts I've read from him, Vorago's English is better than most native speakers I know.

Get off his back everyone. Let the man gripe a little. Everyone knows it's tough finding work these days. Even menial jobs are tough to come by. Stop blaming him and start being helpful.

Sorry to hear times are rough man, I find if you dumb yourself down a lil it actually helps. Being over-qualified is no good, employers either think you'll be dis-satisfied, they can't pay you enough, or you are smarter than them(managment) and they're a lil leary of thier own job security! if your smarter and better than them you might end up replacing them!

Had my second interview yesterday.

At the end of the interview the manager tells me he thinks I have the capabilities to work at the store, but not the necessary "drive" :D

He and I both know I don't plan on staying long. You can talk around the questions in that direction, but that doesn't make the Master degree I have disappear.

And I'm doing administration until next friday for an insurance company.

Right on for getting the job. Gathering from your posts, you have experience in outdoor activities. Have you though about opening your own business selling those sporting goods and doing guided tours maybe?
