So I've been looking at this John East J-Retro Deluxe PreAmp (for my Fender AMD Jazz V) for a bit now and I am considering purchasing it however I have one question regarding it's installation/operation.
I try to avoid asking stupid questions and I've read all I can find regarding the installation, but have not found the answer I'm looking for. I even emailed them but have not received any response.
So I look to the bass community and especially anyone who has installed one themselves.
Here goes......
Everything says to make sure to have enough space in the control plate cavity for the 9V battery to fit, correct?.......However, does that mean the batteries in the back compartment(2x 9VBatteries=18V) are useless??
Or do all 3 work together??
Cant I just wire it so that it uses the 2 batteries in the back and not have to use or even have to put in the one under the plate???...
The specs say that it works off of 18V and I'd MUCH rather go to the battery compartment in the back then to have to unscrew a control plate to replace a dead battery......esp at a gig.
Thats whats buggin me....and I hope my questions makes sense.
Thanks!!
