John Giblin. What a fretless player!

He got his own voice i think. Its so nice to hear music where the marriage between the song and the bass is perfect. That doesnt happen often anymore. Most famous bassplayers these days just make muzak at namm.

Kate Bush - Breathing

JOHN MARTYN - HURT IN YOUR HEART
(John Giblin - Bass)

Brand X Product - Wal to Wal - Phil Collins

One of the only drum machine Brand X recordings. Very cool,

Percy Jones and John Giblin on bass! Phil on drums also.

And now, some "tabloid" rumors.
(From the Internet)
Who played bass on Lady In Red?

"Apparently, Pino recorded the original bassline for that song, but after a load of work on the track it didn't fit in any more. John Giblin was passing through town or something and threw down a few takes, and that's what ended up on the record."

Hush-hush!

Rumors, shmumors: the bass part that ended up on 'lady in red' is definitely a fretless stingray, and it sounds EXACTLY like Pino. Ergo, Pino :D
