Hey, does this project have a website yet?

Just published a couple of days ago, in support of our applying to MusikFest, which is kind of a big deal on the East Coast...

Here's a video from our first "shakedown cruise" gig:
This one features a few seconds from the Roscoe-Cam...

Here's another one:

We learned a *lot* from that show. So when you see and hear stuff and think 'that's not right...' trust me - we've already addressed it...
Good turnout, receptive audience. I think the project has potential.

Fabulous! You're harp guy is terrific. Bill plays a lot more lead guitar on "Trigger" than my guy does. Roger will play a few intros but no solos. Johnny Magic Fingers has been wanting to hire a harmonica player for a while now but we'd have to bump up the remuneration for our shows in order to afford one.

Your pictures at Bethlem Steel are pretty cool. Our current band does not have a lot of pictures on the website. I'm going to see if Roger will put this one on there. This was taken in downtown Austin.

We don't do "Golden Earrings" or "Still Is Still Moving". I like those. We do "Beer For My Horses" and "Midnight Rider" to rock out a little bit. Here's our attempt at "City Of New Orleans".

I dig the "Roscoe cam" shots. Your website looks good. Ours needs more current content as far as pictures go. I think Roger has hired a new web guy to revamp the site... Willie Nelson Tribute Band – True Willie – America's Most Authentic Willie Nelson Tribute Band so we will see.

Wouldn't it be a blast to have a "Dueling Willie" festival one of these days? :D

At that same gig in Austin the client hired two Elvis impersonators, a young skinny one and an old fat one. :roflmao:

If we can have more than one Elvis, why not more Willie? :)

Keep up the good work! It looks like you guys have as many gigs on the books as we do this summer. I'm looking forward to gig reports. ;)

Thank you for your indulgence,

Truth be told, everything between now and September are Bill's solo gigs. It's been a big effort to build up the website and edit show videos so we can apply to MusikFest, which application process itself is nontrivial. That's behind us, so attention turns to getting the band booked.

True Willie is tight and polished to a level we still aspire to. Playing the Shakedown Cruise show was a tradeoff between getting the whole show gig-ready and working on individual song trouble spots. So there were clearly rocky spots but we did make it through the show with no real trainwecks. We also went in with no technical rehearsal, an untried PA and light setup, an inexperienced sound tech, and half as much setup time as we needed.
