Jonathan Hischke appreciation!

Been listening to Dot Hacker lately, this guy is a solid player who does a lot of intriguing stuff on bass.

EDIT: I realized there are multiples of the same video below, but I put links to the timestamps. Basically in Order/Disorder the effect happens at 1m17s, 1m30s, and 1m52s.

and for the other clip, probably Meatbox? Just my speculation. ANYWAY this guy is awesome, and super tasteful. Would you agree?

He's a great player who is capable of melting faces at 100 yards, yet is always appropriate and tasteful. He's also one of the sweetest people on the planet.

To echo @aens_wife & @vegas532, Hischke is an amazing bassist AND dude. Super sweet, humble, down to earth, and makes everyone around him feel comfortable and equal. It was a real joy to watch him improv on effects in our shared NAMM booth in Jan.

I discovered him awhile back. Was really digging his tone on the EV Kain song "striking out" and contacted him. He got right back to me with his pedal usage. I admire this. He is definitely in my top favorite bass players. Hope to see him play live in the future.

A bunch of us went out to dinner after one of the days at NAMM. After dinner, Jonathan and I were talking pedals outside the restaurant. I remembered looking over at one point and saying "The restaurant's been closed for a couple of hours now." lol

I got to meet him for the first time yesterday at Bass Player live. What an awesome guy! My next bass project is to replicate his Mocha p bass. A tribute if you will!
