This is a 5 string Joseph Bass, made by Josip Zaja, a luthier in Croatia, this K. Smith clone is one of his earlier builds.
Ash body with Walnut top,
maple neck, maple fretboard,
abalone side dots,
Joseph’s own multicoil pickups and a Sire preamp (2 band eq, tone control, active passive switch)
34” scale
17mm string spacing
24 frets.
Nice sounding B string
Right around 9lbs (4.15kg)
The bass sounds and plays real nice, however the bridge pickup has had a wiring issue ever since it was shipped to me (very low input). You could get that fixed or strip the electronics and use the neck and body for a Mod platform, since like I said, it is a very nice neck and body.
The bridge pickup is weak to me but, I’m selling it for a low price.
