Cool. This older news, but I am glad I clicked on it anyway, I had never read that full article. $32 is on the low end of what I'd get with a duo playing at the train station in Oakland. We'd get between $30-120 playing at BART each day. We played Mingus and Ornette mostly. Four or Five days of it would be an amount that could pay a bill, certainly get solid dinner, it was earlier than any gig. I'd often do it on the way to a gig. Anyway, if you have not read this whole article it is worth it!
Edgar Meyer might be more like it on the double bass side. Although Stick Player would probably like to play with Future Man.
Whilst I didn't find the playing all that extraordinary(mind you, it was a subway performance), I enjoyed the article very much! Thanks for sharing!
How lucky is this audience to see these cats perform in a little bookstore http://youtu.be/O7EcT5YzKhQ
