I have these basses.
I love the tone of the JP-90 and wouldn't mind getting that same thing from the Aerodyne but it sounds, well, different, and not good, and the pots don't really do what the JP-90 does. The JP-90 just works.
The Aerodyne is stock and doesn't seem as loud when I'm not pushing it with pedals, brighter, less bottom, less full, and the vol and tone just seem kind of cold and flat. The JP-90 I've been inside and replaced the pots and stuff but the pickups are the same and it's always sounded great. I'm running a couple o/d's into an svt.
I understand the JP-90 has US pickups. Would it be as easy as replacing the pickups and electronics?
Any suggestions for replacement J/P sets? (Not really wanting active)
