Hello Talk bass community. So this is for those concerned with purchasing here from TB. Prior to joining, I shopped on Craigslist, eBay, amazon ,etc. I've been ripped off numerous times. I've been pretty careful though. Just recently, I purchased a bass neck from a member here and I am super excited to receive it and put it to good and well loved use! This member has good feedback and I even sent him a little extra $ than what he was asking for since we exchanged lots of messages and he's a cool guy. I'm not scared of being ripped off by anyone here since we're all friendly and outgoing individuals and I know that whatever I buy has been in the hands of a bass player and not some "I clean out storage units and found this in an abandoned unit, I know nothing about basses, I'm a guitar player and my buddy plays bass and he said this..." kind of deal. So, since joining I've seen cool things, shared ideas and still learn along the way. I think we can all agree, I'm not sure if anyone's ripped anyone off on here, but I think everyone's pretty honest. Share your experiences!

been burnt at least three times on here-
one time was an outright scammer and the other two-they were rectified in the end but not before becoming major PITA's to get restitution.
the key to selling and becoming trustworthy on here is transparency and communication. the more the better.
what seems to be a trend (and I don't condone it), is selling an item misrepresented and then dealing with it after the deal has been made; many times the seller will know full well that a phone call is coming, pleads ignorance and then pays for repair/return.
I understand that some people simply do not have the knowledge like others do about the details of instruments.
I would have phone conversations with sellers and make sure you know that they know at least as much about the instrument as you do.

chances are WAY better here that things will go well.
you have a chance of being ripped off ANYWHERE...
the members here (with good feedback and long term membership) have a reputation that ostensibly they'd like to protect... an outting here of wrongdoing is near to tar and feathering for gosh sakes!
