Just curious. How many big name players use Messa Boogie

Well there's ME. I'm the most popular bass player in my basement.

Then there's Les Claypool.

Thoughts. I have them. I’ve never made a buying decision based on what well-known players play. In fact, I can’t tell you what famous musicians use any of the basses, amps, cabinets, mics, cables, etc. that I use. Don’t know, don’t care. Buy what appeals to you. Don’t concern yourself with famous people. When they exit a restroom it smells amazingly similar to when we leave a restroom. :)

True but I was wondering if they were identified with any particular genre. Like Markbass being popular with the jazz and funk players. Still can’t afford them but I wondered.

Always had an interest but never enough money but I can dream. However I can't find a list of famous Messa users. Any thoughts?

Most I have seen have been guitar players, I haven't seen a bass player yet in person playing a Mesa Boogie amp or head. That doesn't mean there are none, I just haven't seen it on the local seen.

Could be like many others with nice gear, they keep it at home and use other gear for the gigs. I know guys that do that with their nicer bass gear and drums.

I too have never seen one in a gig either(for bass)! Not played by ANY of my favourite bass players. Maybe I’m just not listening to enough music.

The gear I have seen is Hartke heads and Cabs, Carvin heads and Cabs, Ampeg, GK, Peavy, Mark Bass (Rare), TC Electronics, SWR, Eden, Bag End, Genz Benz (once), and some Fender amps. But no Mesa Boogie for Bass. I have never seen any videos of some of my favorite bands/players on live gigs with Mesa Boogie bass amps.

I know a few guitar players that use Mesa Boogie amps. They sound ok, could be how they have them set. My Brother played with another guitar player on a gig that have a nice Mesa Boogie guitar amp/cab and his Fender Twin Reverb with JBL's in it just killed the Mesa Boogie amp in sound! From what I understand it was a pricey Mesa Boogie amp and cab too!

Bass player for Rancid is all in on Mesa.

Its interesting how many of my musician friends either didn't know about Mesa at all or thought they just made guitar amps. Have yet to gig with my Mesa gear, suspect I will get a "da fuq is that?" or two when I do.

Just a slight gender bias in that artist list then :)
As in every list. You're not wrong to point that out. Even St. Vincent plays a Trevor Little Boy amp.
And it's true this won't change until brands do a better job "inside" their office because that is where the decisions are made.
I must say Fender has really done a better job, they are taking steps in the direction of parity.
