We both have almost the same GK amp, but when i went through his amp setup with the Fishman preamp, it sounded a lot better than my setup! I liked the way it sounded. He said, "you could probably find that preamp on Ebay for like $25..."
Well, i couldn't find it, but it got me thinking about preamps now. I have an underwood pickup through a GK MB201 (i think is what the model is...) and i'm about 90% happy with my sound, but i'd still be willing to mess around with a cheap preamp, cause i liked what i heard.
Any ideas?
I did see a Quantum Blender thing that could take the source from two pickups and blend them into one. That sounds like a fun toy...
