Did you try putting an "E" string in that position and tuning it to "A"? (I guess it's possible that you could have 2 bad "A" strings.)
Also try tilting the bridge (very!) slightly towards the fingerboard and then towards the tailpiece. I once had a buzz (Bb) that turned out to be a bridge fit problem.
