Im following Treager's book closely and taking my time. So far it looks good. I'll post some pics soon. Only thing I need is a place to buy sheets of wood for body repair. The edges are a bit rough.

Small world. I work near Cypress Creek Road but live off SE 10th in Deerfield. We're practically neighbors.
If Constantines is still open on Oakland Park blvd (they may have closed for good by now), they have been getting rid of veneers and all kinds of "luthier grade" and high end furniture grade woods for really cheap (going out of business sale).
As mentioned before, craft stores can also be real good for some basic yet decent quality materials.

Stopped by Constantines and picked up
A poplar veneer for $3.00. Now ive gotta find the stain color, get a new sound post and bridge and i'm all set.
Next step is shimming the neck joint.

Hey guys!! Long time no post...been a crazy summer.
Over the past few months i've done quite a bit of work on the bass. With a bunch more to do.
1. Plained the fretboard
2. Added a rod to the neck heel and re-glued the crack
3. Added a rod to the top of the neck by the tuning box(precautionary repair) because I found a hairline crack forming.
4. Glued the body separations
5. New Sound Post and end pen.
6. Shimed the neck joint
7. Added a maple shim under the fingerboard to add thickness(going to buy a ebony board because the current fingerboard is slightly warped and causing buzzing.
8. Cut and installed a new bridge
I'm trying to add pics via phone. If they dont show I'll add via PC when I get a chance.
