Kay bass "rediscovered" in attic.

I titled it "rediscovered" because while I knew I had it and where it was it was rather forgotten otherwise. While cleaning out the attic I decided to bring it down and clean it up a bit. The bass was originally given to me by an elderly coworker whose son told him to get rid of it. (I had also previously purchased an early '70s Marshall half and a same-era Fender Twin Reverb from him for $150. Total. I feel like I should mention that the Marshall head needed repair and the "REVERB" channel on the Twin doesn't always work.) Anyway, the Kay is really in pretty good shape aside from scratchy pots. Everything works, it holds tune and just sounds so cool. I'm gonna throw some flats on it and keep it around just because.

Yes, it is a hollow body (chambered?). I'll see if I can manage to get some clips posted later on. It really does have a cool vibe to it.

I would assume whatever the original p/u is. I've seen them called "speedbump" pickups, but that's all I know and I assume it's a rather generic modern term. "Singlecoil" I suppose works. The controls are Tone/Volume.

Is there any way to clean up the function of the electronics without replacing anything? Contact cleaner or something along those lines?

Very cool! The headstock design looks a bit ackward to me, but to be honest that is one cool looking bass.

Cleaned up well, digging the mojo (lol) on the janky-a$$ old strings. No soundclips yet as I'm having difficulty locating my USB interface. Sounds funky though.
