Keep my Musicman Stingray or Carvin SB4000

Hello fellow TB's

I need some advice and helpful opinions. I have my Musicman Stingray and Im happy with it, however the G string always gets lost in the mix. I know that they are known for this, and Ive heard many ways of trying to fix the problem. At the same time Ive heard really great things about the Carvin SB's? So what do you guys think? would I be happy with a Carvin or should I just stick to my MM Stingray?

The Carvin has a better sustain on the G than the Stingray, but of course has a different sound. Keep the Stingray and get the Carvin.

The Stingray and the Carvin SB are quite a bit different in feel and tone. Having both would be a good combo.

Something to consider,I'm pretty sure you can order the Carvin with the MM pup option. I'd say that would be damn close to "best of both worlds."

keep the stingray, and get the carvin, some basses can get kind of close to the stingray tone, but never perfect, so if you like the stingray tone, then don't get rid of it, you'll regret it.

I used to have a Carvin with the bridge humbucker, and it didn't sound very much like a Stringray.

My old Stingray had the G problem, but my new one is the opposite, the D & G are a little too loud! Try raising the pickup under the G and see if that helps. I'm lowering mine just a tad to even things out.
