Keeping the mids and lows even

trying to figure out the best way to get the mids on my bass at the same level as my lows. As of right now it seems like my mids are much louder and I haven't been able to change that. Any pedals that might could help with this? Open to suggestions

An equalizer will do it, as long as it’s connected after any compression.

what is your bass? what do you have now for pedals and how are you amplifying your bass sound (bass amp)? Live performance or DI recording? So much depends on these things, starting with the pickups (placement and number) tone controls, and your playing techinque (how and where you play in relation to the pickup(s)).

I have a fender p bass deluxe and a fender jaguar that I keep roughly on the same settings. Got the jazz tone knob bout half way down and the p knob all the way up. Live performance with an Ampeg 810 cab going with an Ampeg B4R head. I usually play right on top of the p pick up as well. My pedal placement as of right now is just
tuner->colourbox->volume pedal->Ampeg. Was planning on getting a compressor (looking at FEA, darkglass, and keeley). Hope this helps, thanks for the insight so far

Cool. Nice setup. You have a lot of opportunities to shape the tone to be less mid-heavy, primarily on the bass itself, and at the amp. Could you share what you've tried so far and why it's not working for you?

Thanks! Well, I dialed in the tone on the graphic eq on the B4R as good as I could get it, almost turned the mid down all the way and that still didn't do much for it without completely taking it out. After that I tried screwing with the the tone knobs on my bass, but really if I changed that any then I can't get the the highs and lows how I want them. So really the only thing I've changed is the graphic eq on my amp head..Do you think a compressor would help, as well as a separate eq pedal?

How about your pickup height? They don't have to be level. Try adjusting to see if it makes a difference.

Are you getting this everywhere you play? Try changing your cab placement to see if it helps.
