keeping the Sansamp for emergency. ..?

Well, I just threw the new GK MB800 in the rack case and am pretty much happy with the tone Im getting...so far. I plan on racking the GK and as I was removing the old gear from the rack I started to think. Should I keep the Sansamp RBI in there for emergencies, say the GK goes out? I assume the RBI could still work as a pre to DI out of in a live setting if need be. It doesnt weigh much and isnt a hassle since its already there. What do you guys think?

With passive pickups an active DI helps to provide a high impedance at the output jack of the bass guitar.
With active on board electronic there is no need for a DI anyway. It's possible to drive FOH console XLR inputs "directly".
Any passive DI box can help as 1/4 plug to XLR converter if neccessary.
