I need a lil feed back i played a 6string ken smith burner really loved the feel but it didnt sound like the 3,000 dollar ken. Im wondering if i take the burner pickups out and put the real ken smith pickups in it will it sound like the high dollar Ken Smiths?

Ken Smith Burner with the Real Ken Smith Pickups

Personally I don't know much about the newer ones.
I have played a few of the older ones, but the tighter string spacing was the turn off for me personally on the 5/6 string models. But they did sound good, they were all J pickup stylee though.

I had a 90's 4 string for a while. Beautiful bass, but definitely didn't fit my Neanderthal style. The preamp in mine was a "real" Ken Smith and the inspection sticker was signed by him. Not sure about the pickups, though. According to most posts on the internet (so it must be true) the Burners kept up with the USA models, and in some respects surpassed them.
